S.I. No. 79/1993 - European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) (Amendment) Regulations, 1993.

I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to the Commission Directive 92/64/EEC⁽¹⁾ of 13 July 1992, Commission Directive 92/99/EEC⁽²⁾ of 17 November, 1992, and Commission Directive 92/113/EEC⁽³⁾ of 16 December, 1992, and for the purposes of giving further effect to Council Directive 70/524/EEC of 23 November, 1970,⁽⁴⁾, as amended, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) (Amendment) Regulations, 1993.

(2) The European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1989 to 1991 and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1989 to 1993.

(3) These Regulations shall come into effect on 30 March, 1993.

2. In these Regulations "the Regulations of 1989" means the European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 49 of 1989 ).

3. Regulation 2 (1) of the Regulations of 1989 is hereby amended by the substitution, for the definition of "Council Directive", of the definition set out in the First Schedule to these Regulations.

4. The Regulations of 1989 are hereby amended by the substitution—

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

1. These Regulations amend the European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1989, so as to give effect to Commission Directives No. 92/64/EEC, 92/99/EEC, and 92/113/EEC, which amend Annexes I and II to Council Directive 70/524/EEC concerning additives in feedingstuffs, with regard to the additives authorised in feedingstuffs and their condition of use.
