EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations bring into operation certain provisions of the Criminal Evidence Act, 1992 . These allow a witness to give evidence through a live television link in cases involving physical or sexual abuse before the Central Criminal Court or Dublin Circuit Criminal Court and obviate, in certain circumstances, the need for the witness to identify the accused in court.
