ELECTORAL ACT, 1992 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1992.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on by him by section 1 (6) of the Electoral Act, 1992 (No. 23 of 1992) hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Electoral Act, 1992 (Commencement) Order, 1992.

2. On the 5th day of November, 1992 the provisions of the Electoral Act, 1992 set out in Column 1 of Part I of the Schedule to this Order shall come into operation to the extent respectively specified in Column 2 thereof.

3. On the 5th day of November, 1992 section 5 of the Electoral Act, 1992 shall come into operation for the purpose of effecting the repeal of such of the enactment's specified in Part I of the First Schedule to that Act as are set out in Column 1 of Part II of the Schedule to this Order, to the extent respectively specified in Column 2 thereof.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into operation on 5th November, 1992 certain provisions of the Electoral Act, 1992 relating to deposits by candidates, free postage for candidates and obstruction of electors.
