IRISH SUGAR (PRESCRIBED CONDITIONS) (DISPOSAL OF SHARES) REGULATIONS, 1991.

I, ALBERT REYNOLDS, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 (7) and (8) of the Sugar Act, 1991 (No. 3 of 1991), following consultation with the Minister for Agriculture and Food hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Irish Sugar (Prescribed Conditions) (Disposal of Shares) Regulations, 1991.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 26th day of April, 1991.

2. (1) The Minister may dispose of shares in the Holding Company valued at £250.70 for no consideration to each person who belongs to either of the classes of person prescribed by paragraph (2) of this Regulation.

(2) The classes of specified persons to which the conditions prescribed by paragraph (1) of the Regulation apply are—

( a ) all persons who were employed by the Company on the 27th February, 1991, and

( b ) all persons who were employed directly by the Company to process sugar beet harvested in each of the four beet campaigns preceding the passing of the Irish Sugar Act, 1991 .

(3) In this Regulation "beet campaign" means a season of sugar beet harvesting for the Company.
