Chief Executive.

7.—(1) There shall be a chief officer of the Institute who shall be known, and is referred to in this Act, as the Chief Executive Officer.

(2) The Chief Executive Officer shall carry on and manage and control generally the administration and business of the Institute and perform such other functions as may be determined by the Institute.

(3) The Chief Executive Officer shall hold office under a contract of service in writing, containing such terms and conditions (including terms and conditions relating to remuneration), as may be approved of by the Minister with the consent of the Minister for Finance.

(4) The Chief Executive Officer shall be paid by the Institute out of moneys at its disposal such remuneration and allowances for expenses incurred by him in the performance of his functions as may be determined by the Minister, with the consent of the Minister for Finance.

(5) The Chief Executive Officer shall be appointed by the Institute with the approval of the Minister, and may be removed from office at any time, by the Institute with the consent of the Minister.

(6) The Chief Executive Officer shall devote the whole of his time to his duties as Chief Executive Officer and shall not hold any other office or position without the consent of the Institute.

(7) The Chief Executive Officer may make proposals to the Institute on any matter relating to its activities.

(8) The Chief Executive Officer shall not be a member of the Institute.
