INSURANCE ACT, 1989 (PART IV) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1990.

I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 of the Insurance Act, 1989 (No. 3 of 1989), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Insurance Act, 1989 (Part IV) (Commencement) Order, 1990.

2. The first day of October, 1990, is hereby appointed as the day on which Part IV of the Insurance Act, 1989 (No. 3 of 1989), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into operation Part IV of the Insurance Act, 1989 (No. 3 of 1989) which contains the provisions relating to the Regulation of Insurance Intermediaries. The Order will come into effect on 1 October, 1990.
