EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (PROTEIN FEEDINGSTUFFS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1990.

I, MICHAEL O'KENNEDY, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 88/485/EEC of 26 July 1988 (1) and Commission Directive 89/520/EEC of 6 September 1989(2) and for the purpose of giving further effect to Council Directive 82/471/EEC of 30 June 1982(3), as amended, hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) (Amendment) Regulations, 1990.

(2) The Principal Regulations and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1986 and 1990.

2. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1986 ( S.I. No. 433 of 1986 ).

3. Regulation 2 (1) of the Principal Regulations are hereby amended by the substitution for the definition of "the Directive of 1982" of the definition set out in Schedule A to these Regulations.

4. The Principal Regulations are hereby amended by the substitution of the First Schedule thereto of the Schedule set out in Schedule B to these Regulations.

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1986, so as to give effect to Commission Directives Nos. 88/485/EEC of 26 July 1988 and 89/520/EEC of 6 September, 1989.
