ROAD TRAFFIC (REMOVAL, STORAGE AND DISPOSAL OF VEHICLES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1990. | ||
The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 97 of the said Act as substituted by section 63 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 , (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations:— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1990. 2. Sub-Article (1) of Article 7 of the Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1983 ) is hereby amended. | ||
( a ) by the substitution of "£50" for "£20" in paragraph (a) and | ||
( b ) by the substitution of "£15" for "£2" in paragraph (b). 3. These Regulations shall come into force on the 30th day of January 1990. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Removal Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations, 1983 by increasing from £20 to £50 the charge for the release of a vehicle payable to a road authority or the Garda Commissioner by the owner of a vehicle which has been towed away in accordance with the Regulations and by increasing from £2 to £15 per day the storage charge payable for the period during which such vehicles have been stored. |
