BOVINE DISEASES (LEVIES) REGULATIONS, 1989.

I, MICHAEL O `KENNEDY, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercises of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 (2) and 19 (1) of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1989.

(2) The amount of levy payable under section 2 of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), shall

( a ) as regards milk be 1.2 penny per gallon,

( b ) as regards animals slaughtered or exported live be £6.90 per animal.

3. The Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1987 ( S.I. No. 109 of 1987 ), are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations which come into effect on 1st December 1989 prescribe new rates of disease levy on milk for processing and on bovine animals slaughtered or exported live.
