BUILDING SOCIETIES ACT, 1989 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1989.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1 (2) of the Building Societies Act, 1989 (No. 17 of 1989), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Building Societies Act, 1989 (Commencement) Order, 1989.

2. The Building Societies Act, 1989 , excepting Part IX, shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1989.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order brings the provisions of the Building Societies Act, 1989 (No. 17 of 1989), except for Part IX which relates to savings protection, into operation on 1st September, 1989.
