EMPLOYMENT AGENCY REGULATIONS, 1988.

I, BERTIE AHERN, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 1 and 8 of the Employment Agency Act, 1971 (No. 27 of 1971), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. The Regulations may be cited as the Employment Agency Regulations, 1988.

2. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Employment Agency Regulations, 1972 ( S.I. No. 255 of 1972 ).

3. The Principal Regulations and these Regulations may be cited together as the Employment Agency Regulations, 1972-1988.

4. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st January, 1989.

5. Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the substitution of "£200" for "£100" in paragraph (b), and that Regulation as so amended is set out in the Table to this Regulation (Inserted by the Employment Agency Regulations, 1976).

TABLE

5. Every application for a licence under section 3 of the Act shall—

(a) be in the form contained in Schedule 2 of these Regulations;

(b) be accompanied by a fee of £200, and

(c) contain the particulars indicated in the form contained in that Schedule.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Regulation is to increase the fee for an employment agency licence to £200.
