PAYMENT OF WAGES (MODE OF PAYMENT) REGULATIONS, 1988.

I, BERTIE AHERN, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Payment of Wages Act, 1979 (No. 40 of 1979), after consultation with the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the payment of Wages (Mode of Payment) Regulations, 1988.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1988.

3. The instrument or modes of payment set out in the Table to this Regulation are hereby specified for the time being for the purpose of section 3 (3) of the payment of Wages Act, 1979 :

TABLE.

Any Warrant or Paying Order or such other such document issued by An Post or drawn on An Post.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide for the introduction by An Post of additional modes of payment of wages to those specified in the Payment of Wages Act, 1979 (No. 40 of 1979).
