EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1986 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1987.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 (3) of the European Communities (Amendment) Act, 1986 (No. 37 of 1986), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the European Communities (Amendment) Act, 1986 (Commencement) Order, 1987.

2. The 1st day of July, 1987, is hereby appointed as the day on which the European Communities (Amendment) Act, 1986 (No. 37 of 1986), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to bring into operation the European Communities (Amendment) Act, 1986 . The purpose of that Act is to provide that certain provisions of the Single European Act done at Luxembourg on 17 February, 1986, and at The Hague on 28 February, 1986, shall be part of the domestic law of the State and to provide for other connected matters.
