MECHANICALLY PROPELLED VEHICLES (INTERNATIONAL CIRCULATION) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1987.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 38 of the Local Government Act, 1955 (No. 9 of 1955) hereby orders as follows:—

1. (1) This order may be cited as the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) (Amendment) Order, 1987.

(2) This order shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1987.

(3) This order and the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) Orders, 1961 to 1983 may be cited together as the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) Orders, 1961 to 1987.

2. Article 16 of the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 269 of 1961 )) as substituted by the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) (Amendment) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 346 of 1980 ) and as amended by the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) (Amendment) Order, 1983 ( S.I. No. 215 of 1983 ) is hereby further amended by the substitution of "three pounds and fifty pence (£3.50)" for "£3" in sub-paragraph (a).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to amend the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) Orders, 1961 to 1983 so as to increase the fee for an international driving permit from £3 to £3.50.
