S.I. No. 20 of 1987.

KILDARE COUNTY COUNCIL ORDER, 1987.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33 (7) of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Kildare County Council Order, 1987.

2. The Kildare County Council Order, 1942, the Kildare County Council (Amendment) Order, 1974 ( S.I. No. 49 of 1974 ), the Kildare County Council (Amendment) Order, 1985 ( S.I. No. 144 of 1985 ) and article 6 (3) of the County Electoral Areas (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1985 are hereby revoked.

3. (1) The County of Kildare shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

(2) Each such county electoral area shall consist of the areas set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

(3) The number of members of the Council of the County of Kildare to be elected for each such county electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

4. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to a district electoral division, townland or urban district shall be construed as referring to such district electoral division, townland or urban district as existing at the date of this Order and every reference to a former rural district shall be construed as a reference to that district as constituted immediately before the 1st day of October, 1925.
