COMBAT POVERTY AGENCY ACT, 1986 (ESTABLISHMENT DAY) ORDER, 1986.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2 of the Combat Poverty Agency Act, 1986 (No. 14 of 1986) hereby orders and appoints as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Combat Poverty Agency Act, 1986 (Establishment Day) Order, 1986.

2. The 15th day of September, 1986 shall be the establishment day for the purposes of the Combat Poverty Agency Act, 1986 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the Order is to establish under the Combat Poverty Agency Act, 1986 , a body to be known as the Combat Poverty Agency, which will advise the Minister for Social Welfare on matters relating to poverty in the State, examine the nature, causes and extent of poverty, initiate measures to combat poverty and promote greater public understanding of all aspects of poverty.
