HEALTH CONTRIBUTIONS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1986.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 10 and 13 of the Health Contributions Act, 1979 , (No. 4 of 1979) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Contributions (Amendment) Regulations, 1986.

2. The Health Contributions Regulations, 1979, ( S.I. No. 107 of 1979 ) as amended by the Health Contributions (Amendment) Regulations, 1985 ( S.I. No. 233 of 1985 ) are hereby amended by the substitution for article 21 of the following article:—

"21. (1) Subject to sub-article (2) all sums paid over to the Minister for Health in accordance with section 13 of the Act shall be appropriated in aid of the Vote for Health.

(2) All sums collected by a health board on or after the 1st day of January 1986 under section 7 of the Act and which are paid over to the Minister for Health under section 13 of the Act shall be repaid to the health board."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide that health boards may retain, as supplementary revenue to meet health services costs, arrears of health contributions collected by them from the farming community on or after 1 January, 1986.
