LIMERICK PILOTAGE (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1986.

I, TED NEALON, Minister of State at the Department of Communications, having received an application in writing for the making of a pilotage order in relation to the Limerick Pilotage District from the Limerick Harbour Commissioners being the Pilotage Authority for the Limerick Pilotage District, now, hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 of the Pilotage Act, 1913, the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1983 (No. 40 of 1983), and the Communications (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1984 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1984 ), make the following Order:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Limerick Pilotage (Amendment) Order, 1986.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1 day of May, 1986.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Limerick Pilotage Order 1921 contained in the Schedule to the Pilotage Orders Confirmation (No. 4) Act, 1921 is hereby amended by the substitution for Article 3 of the following Article:

"3. (1) Pilotage shall be compulsory for all vessels within that portion of the Pilotage District which lies eastward of an imaginary line drawn true north and south through Rinana Point on Scattery Island.

(2) Pilotage shall be compulsory for all vessels measuring in excess of 3,000 net register tons within that portion of the Pilotage District which lies eastward of an imaginary line joining Kilcredaun Point to Kilconly Point."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to alter the compulsory pilotage area of the Limerick Pilotage District.
