INDUSTRY, TRADE, COMMERCE AND TOURISM (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1986.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1986.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 19th day of February, 1986.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, An Roinn Tionscail, Trádála, Tráchtála agus Turasóireachta and, in the English language, the Department of Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Tionscail agus Tráchtála and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Industry and Commerce.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of a Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Tionscail, Trádála, Tráchtála agus Turasóireachta and, in the English language, the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Tionscail agus Tráchtála and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

4. In any enactment—

( a ) references to the Department of Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism shall be construed as references to the Department of Industry and Commerce;

( b ) references to the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism shall be construed as references to the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order changes the name of the Department of Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism to that of the Department of Industry and Commerce and the title of the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism to that of the Minister for Industry and Commerce.
