PIGS AND BACON ACT, 1935 (PART II) (NO. 11) REGULATIONS, 1985.

I, AUSTIN DEASY, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 8 and 28 (inserted by section 5 (1) of the Agricultural Produce (Meat) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1978 (No. 13 of 1978)) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), and the Agriculture and Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 31 of 1977 ), hereby make the following regulations, with respect to which, pursuant to subsection (7) of the said section 28, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 11) Regulations, 1985.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. (1) For the purposes of section 28 (1) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), the prescribed sum shall, for the period beginning on the 1st day of April, 1985, and ending on the commencement of these Regulations, be 75p.

(2) For the purposes of section 28 (1) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), the prescribed sum shall, from the commencement of these Regulations, be 75p.

4. The Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 10) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 410 of 1983 ), are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations reduce as and from 1 April 1985 the fees payable by bacon curers for veterinary examination of pigs in accordance with the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 .
