NATIONAL DRUGS ADVISORY BOARD (ESTABLISHMENT) ORDER, 1966 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1985.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 to 6 of the Health (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1961 (No. 27 of 1961) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the National Drugs Advisory Board (Establishment) Order, 1966 (Amendment) Order, 1985.

2. The National Drugs Advisory Board (Establishment) Order, 1966 is hereby amended by—

(a) the insertion in paragraph 4 of the following sub-paragraph after sub-paragraph (h):

"(i) to exercise such powers as a competent authority or otherwise for the purposes of the implementation of the Directive No. 81/851/EEC 1 of the Council of the European Communities as may be assigned to the Board by the Minister in pursuance of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972)."; and

(b) the substitution of "sixteen" for "twelve" in paragraph 5.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of the Order is to enable the National Drugs Advisory Board to exercise such powers as may be assigned to it by the Minister for the purposes of the implementation of Directive No. 81/851/EEC relating to the marketing of veterinary medicinal products. In addition, the Order has the effect of increasing the membership of the Board from twelve to sixteen.
