S.I. No. 81 of 1985.

TELEPHONE (AMENDMENT) SCHEME, 1985.

BORD TELECOM ÉIREANN, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 90 of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (No. 24 of 1983), hereby makes the following Scheme:

1. (1) This Scheme may be cited as the Telephone (Amendment) Scheme, 1985.

(2) The Telephone Schemes, 1980 to 1984, and this Scheme may be cited together as the Telephone Schemes 1980 to 1985.

2. This Scheme shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1985.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Scheme.

4. In this Scheme "the Regulations of 1983" means the Telephone (Amendment) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 73 of 1983 ).

5. The Minister for Communications pursuant to Section 90 (2) of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act 1983 has concurred in the increase of charges effected by this Scheme.

6. The Telephone Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 195 of 1980 ), are hereby amended by:

(a) The substitution of the following Regulation for Regulation 20 (2):

"In case a reverse charge call is made to a telephone in the State there shall be charged to and payable by the subscriber who is the subscriber in respect of the called telephone the charge specified in paragraph 4 of Part 1 of the Fifth Schedule to these Regulations which is appropriate to the call (save any personal charge in case the call is made from a coinbox exchange line)."

(b) The substitution of the following Regulation for Regulation 21(2):

"The subscriber shall pay, on demand, to Bord Telecom Éireann, for the installation, removal and rental of equipment specified in the Sixth Schedule to these Regulations, the charges specified in the said Schedule opposite the mention of the equipment."

(c) The substitution of the following Schedule for the First Schedule thereto (inserted by Regulation 5 (a) of the Regulations of 1983).

"FIRST SCHEDULE

Regulation 9

CHARGES FOR LOCAL CALLS

1. To a subscriber

(a) if he rents an exchange line without a coinbox... ... ...

Charges for Subscriber Dialled Trunk Calls (where the service is available).

In respect of each period or part of a period of time specified in the Table to this Schedule which is appropriate to the call and during which the call continues—

(a) the sum of 10.7p shall be charged to a subscriber without a coinbox,

(b) the sum of 13p shall be charged to a subscriber with a coinbox,

(c) the sum of 15p shall be paid or placed in the coinbox by a caller from a call office or coinbox exchange line for the first, second and third periods and the sum of 10p for the fourth and fifth periods of time and this cycle shall be repeated for subsequent periods.

(iii) such other times as Bord Telecom Éireann may from time to time announce by advertisement in the national morning daily newspapers.

(b) made by a caller from a call office or from a coinbox exchange line, there shall be charged and paid or placed in the coinbox the charges as stated in the Table below.
