COURTS-MARTIAL APPEALS ACT, 1983 (APPLICATION OF PART II) ORDER, 1983

I, PATRICK COONEY, Minister for Defence, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 24 of the Courts-Martial Appeals Act, 1983 (No. 19 of 1983), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Courts-Martial Appeals Act, 1983 (Application of Part II) Order, 1983.

2. The 15th day of July, 1983, is hereby fixed as the day referred to in section 24 of the Courts-Martial Appeals Act, 1983 (No. 19 of 1983), and accordingly the provisions of Part II of that Act have effect by virtue of that section in relation to convictions by courts-martial of which the findings are promulgated on or after that day.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides that the provisions of Part II of the Courts-Martial Appeals Act, 1983 shall have effect in relation to convictions by courts-martial of which the findings are promulgated on or after the 15th day of July, 1983.
