PETROLEUM OILS (REGULATION OR CONTROL OF ACQUISITION, SUPPLY, DISTRIBUTION OR MARKETING) ORDER, 1983.

WHEREAS the Government are of the opinion that the exigencies of the common good necessitate the regulation or control by the Minister for Industry and Energy on behalf of the State of the acquisition, supply, distribution or marketing of petroleum oils:

NOW, the Government, in exercise of the power conferred on them by section 2 (1) of the Fuels (Control of Supplies) Act, 1971 (No. 3 of 1971) (inserted by section 6 (1) of the Fuels (Control of Supplies) Act, 1982 (No. 18 of 1982)), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Petroleum Oils (Regulation or Control of Acquisition, Supply, Distribution or Marketing) Order, 1983.

2. This Order shall remain in force for twelve months from the date of its making.

3. It is hereby declared that the exigencies of the common good necessitate the regulation or control by the Minister for Industry and Energy, on behalf of the State, of the acquisition, supply, distribution or marketing of petroleum oils.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Order provides that S.I. No. 140 of 1979 will remain in force unless previously revoked, until, 31st December, 1983.
