FISHERY DISTRICTS (ALTERATION OF BOUNDARIES) REGULATIONS, 1982.

I, BRENDAN DALY, Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 20 of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 (No. 14 of 1959) (as amended by section 64 of the Fisheries Act, 1980 (No. 1 of 1980) ), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 30 of 1977 ) (as adapted by the Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 195 of 1978 ) ), hereby make the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Fishery Districts (Alteration of Boundaries) Regulations, 1982.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 20th day of December, 1982.

2. In these Regulations—

"the Act of 1959" means the Maritime Jurisdiction Act, 1959 (No. 22 of 1959);

"the baseline" means the baseline referred to in the Act of 1959;

"the Principal Act" means the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 (No. 14 of 1959).

3. (1) The boundaries of each fishery district mentioned in column (2) of the Schedule to these Regulations are hereby altered by the inclusion therein of the waters specified in column (3) of the said Schedule opposite the mention of the fishery district in the said column (2) (all of which waters are in an area or portion of the sea described in subparagraph (i) or (ii) of section 10 (9) (a) of the Fisheries Act, 1980 (No. 1 of 1980)).

(2) The boundaries of a fishery district mentioned in column (2) of the Schedule to these Regulations, as altered by these Regulations, are the boundaries thereof indicated on the map referred to in Article 3 (2) of the Fisheries Regions Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 324 of 1980 ).

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 1 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 70° true from the most easterly point of the high water mark at Red Island, in the townland of Townparks, barony of Balrothery East, county of Dublin, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a southerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 90° true from the most easterly point of the high water mark at Wicklow Head, in the townland of Dunbar Head, barony of Arklow, county of Wicklow, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a northerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the most easterly point of the high water mark at Red Island, and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

2.

Wexford District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 2 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 90° true from the point of the high water mark secondly—mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 1 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a southerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 180° true from the north-east corner of the Boat House at Kiln Bay, in the townland of Bannow, barony of Bargy, county of Wexford, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in an easterly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all part of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

3.

Waterford District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 3 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 180° true from the north-east corner of the Boat House mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 2 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a westerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 166° true from the most easterly point of the high water mark at Helvick Head, in the townland of Helvick, barony of Decies-within-Drum, county of Waterford, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in an east north-easterly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the said corner, and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

4.

Lismore District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 4 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the Sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 166° true from the point of the high water mark mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 3 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a south-westerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 147° true from the most north-easterly point of the high water mark at the pier at Ballycotton, in the townland of Ballycotton, barony of Imokilly, county of Cork (East Riding), and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a north-easterly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high-water mark mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

5.

Cork District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in each of the paragraphs (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 5 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 147° true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 4 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a south-westerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 225° true from the most southerly point of the high water mark at Crow Head, in the townland of Ballynacarriga, barony of Bear, county of Cork (West Riding), and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in an east south-easterly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

6.

Kerry District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in each of the paragraphs (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 6 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 225° true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 5 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a north-westerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 297° true from the most westerly point of the high water mark at Kerry Head, in the townland of Tiduff, barony of Clanmaurice, county of Kerry, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a south-westerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

7.

Limerick District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 7 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 297° true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 6 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a northerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 270° true from the most westerly point of the high water mark at Hags Head, in the townland of Ballylaan, barony of Corcomroe, county of Clare, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a south-easterly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1)(b) of the Act of 1959.

8.

Galway District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 8 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 270° true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 7 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a north-westerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 247°30' true from the high water mark at the point of juncture of the townlands of Banraghbaun South and Keeraunnagark South, both in the barony of Moycullen, county of Galway, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a south-easterly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

9.

Connemara District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 9 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 247°30' true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 8 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a north-westerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 270° true from the most southerly point of the high water mark of the townland of Ballinaleama, barony of Ballynahinch, county of Galway, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a southerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

10.

Ballinakill District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 10 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 270° true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 9 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a northerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 270° true as far as 9°50' west longitude and thence bearing 0° true as far as 53°50' north latitude and thence bearing 270° true, from the most southerly point of the high water mark at Pigeon Point, in the townland of Westport Demesne, barony of Burrishoole, county of Mayo, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a southerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

11.

Bangor District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 11 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virture of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 270° true as far as 9°50' west longitude and thence bearing 0° true as far as 53°50' north latitude and thence bearing 270° true, from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 10 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a northerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 320° true from the most northerly point of the high water mark at Benwee Head, in the townland of Carrownaglogh, barony of Erris, county of Mayo, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a west south-westerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

(c) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

12.

Ballina District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 12 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 320° true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 11 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a south-easterly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 320°30' true from the most easterly point of the high water mark at Cooanmore Point, in the townland of Killeenduff, barony of Tireragh, county of Sligo, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a westerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) of the Act of 1959.

13.

Sligo District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in each of the paragraphs (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 13 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 320°30' true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 12 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, intitially in a north-easterly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 282° true from the most northerly point of the high water mark at Mullaghmore Head, in the townland of Kilkilloge, barony of Carbury, county of Sligo, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a south-westerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

14.

Ballyshannon District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 14 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 282° true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 13 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a north-easterly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 285° true from the most westerly point of the high water mark at Rossan Point, in the townland of Malin More, barony of Banagh, county of Donegal, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a southerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

15.

Letterkenny District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in each of the paragraphs (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 15 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 285° true from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 14 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a north-easterly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 346° true from the most westerly point of the high water mark at Malin Head, in the townland of Ardmalin, barony of Inishowen East, county of Donegal, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a west south-westerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark secondly-mentioned in the said paragraph (b), and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

16.

Dundalk District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 16 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point on the low water mark at which that mark is intersected by the boundary between the State and Northern Ireland mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the said Second Schedule opposite reference number 16 in column (1) of that Schedule, and continuing along the low water mark, initially in a south-easterly direction, to the point at which the low water mark is intersected by a line drawn bearing 90° true from the most easterly point of the high water mark at Clogher Head, in the townland of Clogher, barony of Ferrand, county of Louth, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the low water mark, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a northerly direction, to the point where it meets the said boundary, and finally continuing along that boundary to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

Drogheda District

( a ) The portion of the area of the sea mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (4) of the Second Schedule to the Principal Act opposite reference number 17 in column (1) of that Schedule to which the internal or inland waters of the State extend by virtue of section 5 of the Act of 1959, and

( b ) the portion of the sea (including any internal or inland waters of the State) which is enclosed by an imaginary line commencing at the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 90° true from the point of the high water mark mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 16 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing along the baseline, initially in a south-westerly direction, to the point at which the baseline is intersected by a line drawn bearing 70° true from the point of the high water mark first-mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite reference number 1 in column (1) of this Schedule, and continuing seaward along the last-mentioned line to the point where it meets the line every point of which is on the seaward side of and at a distance of twelve nautical miles from the nearest point of the aforesaid section of the baseline, and continuing along the last-mentioned line, initially in a north north-westerly direction, to the point where it meets the aforesaid line projected from the point of the high water mark mentioned in paragraph (b) opposite the said reference number 16, and finally continuing along that line to the point first-mentioned, and

( c ) any other portion of the sea which is on the seaward side and all parts of which are within a distance of twelve nautical miles of the baseline of any island or low-tide elevation situated within a portion of the sea described in paragraph (a) or (b) of this entry, being an island or low-tide elevation referred to in section 4 (1) (b) of the Act of 1959.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations alter the boundaries of the fishery districts by the inclusion of waters (as specified in the Regulations) which are in an area or portion of the sea described in section 10(9) (a) of the Fisheries Act, 1980 . In effect, the Regulations, extend the boundaries of the fishery districts seaward out as far as twelve nautical miles from the baseline.
