DISTRICT COURT (AREAS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1982.

I, SEÁN DOHERTY, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me be section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court (Areas) (Amendment) Order, 1982.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of May, 1982.

2. In this Order the "District Court (Areas) Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3. The First Schedule to the District Court (Areas) Order is hereby amended by the deletion of:

(i) the matter at reference numbers 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78 and 79, and

(ii) paragraphs (c), (d) and (e) in column (5) at reference number 263.

4. The Second Schedule to the District Court (Areas) Order is hereby amended by the deletion of:

(i) the matter at reference numbers 65, 66, 67, 68 and 69, and

(ii) paragraphs (c), (d) and (e) in column (5) at reference number 224.

5. The Schedule to the District Court Areas (Amendment) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 161 of 1970 ), is hereby amended by the deletion—

( a ) in column 4 at reference number 10, of "Balbriggan,", "Howth,", "Lucan,", ", Swords," and "73,", "75,", "77," and ", 79", and

( b ) the material at reference number 11.

6. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had not been made.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order together with the District Court Districts (Dublin) (Amendment) Order, 1982 ( S.I. No. 88 of 1982 ) and the District Court (Districts) (Amendment) Order, 1982 ( S.I. No. 90 of 1982 ) is to (a) abolish the District Court Areas of Balbriggan, Dundrum, Howth, Kilmainham, Lucan, Rathfarnham and Swords and to transfer the areas of which they were comprised to the Dublin Metropolitan District and (b) to transfer certain parts of the Bray District Court Area to the Dublin Metropolitan District.
