DISABLED PERSONS (MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1982.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947), and by sections 69 and 72 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1982.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1982.

3. The Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations (S.I. No. 341 of 1981) are hereby amended as follows:—

( a ) in sub-article (3) of article 4 "£32.55" shall be substituted for "£26.05".

( b ) in sub-articles (6) and (8) of article 4 "other than supplementary welfare allowance" shall be inserted after the words "benefit or assistance" and

( c ) the following shall be substituted for Schedule 2:

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these regulations is to amend the scheme of maintenance allowances payable under section 69 of the Health Act, 1970 , by providing as from 1st April, 1982 for an increase in the maximum weekly rate for eligible applicants to thirty-two pounds and fifty-five pence and by providing for increases for dependants.
