FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (NO. 17) WARRANT, 1982.

I, JOHN WILSON, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 , 3 and 6 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 , (No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 17) Warrant, 1982.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1982.

2. In this Warrant—

"the Principal Warrant" means the Foreign Parcel Post Warrant, 1953 ( S.I. No. 418 of 1953 )

"Warrant No. 16" means the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 16) Warrant, 1981 ( S.I. No. 308 of 1981 ).

3. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 3 of Warrant No. 16) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Warrant.

4. The Third Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 4 of Warrant No. 16) of the entries in the Second Schedule to this Warrant.

5. Part II of the Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant (inserted by Regulation 5 of Warrant No. 16) is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein of the entries in the Third Schedule to this Warrant.

6. The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 6 of Warrant No. 16) of the entries in the Fourth Schedule to this Warrant.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Warrant applies to the Foreign Parcel Post service and comes into operation on the 1st April, 1982. It authorises increases in fees charged for Express Delivery, Insurance, Customs Clearance, Cash-on-Delivery and advice of delivery services. It also authorises increases in compensation for insured parcels.
