WILDLIFE ACT, 1976 (SECTION 27) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1982.

I, TOM FITZPATRICK, Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, being satisfied that because of the severity of weather conditions occurring in the State it is desirable, in the interest of conserving fauna, to make an order under Section 27 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (No. 39 of 1976), in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said section 27, as adapted by the Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 195 of 1978 ), hereby make the following order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Wildlife Act, 1976 (Section 27) (No. 2) Order, 1982.

2. The hunting of any protected wild bird which is of the species specified in the Schedule to this Order (being a species which is specified in the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Order, 1979 ( S.I. No. 192 of 1979 ), as amended by the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 229 of 1980 )), is hereby prohibited throughout the State during the period beginning on the 23rd day of January, 1982, and ending on the 31st day of January, 1982.

Greenland White-fronted Goose.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to continue the prohibition on the hunting of the Greenland White-fronted Goose, in the interest of conservation, until the end of the current season viz. 31 January, 1982.
