S.I. No. 249/1981 - Factories (Notification of Accidents) (Amendment) Regulations, 1981.

I, LIAM KAVANAGH, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 74 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), as amended by section 34 of the Safety in Industry Act, 1980 (No. 9 of 1980), and the Labour (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1966 ( S.I. No. 164 of 1966 ), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Factories (Notification of Accidents) (Amendment) Regulations, 1981.

(2) The Factories (Notification of Accidents) Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 180 of 1956 ), and these Regulations may be cited together as the Factories (Notification of Accidents) Regulations, 1956 and 1981.

(3) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 20th day of July, 1981.

2. The notice contained in the Schedule to the Factories (Notification of Accidents) Regulations, 1956, is hereby amended by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph 5:

“5. Injuries and Disablement

(a) Nature and extent of injury (e.g. fracture of leg, laceration of arm, scald, scratch followed by sepsis)   ............................................................ ............................................................ .......................................

(b) Whether fatal or non-fatal   ............................................................ ............................................................ ..........

(c) If not fatal, state if injured person was disabled for more than three days from performing the normal duties of his employment   ............................................................ ............................................................ ...............................

”
