PETROLEUM OILS (MAINTENANCE AND PROVISION OF SUPPLIES) ORDER, 1980.

WHEREAS there is for the time being in force an order (entitled the Petroleum Oils (Control of Supply and Distribution) Order, 1979 ( S.I. No. 140 of 1979 )) under Section 2 of the Fuels (Control of Supplies) Act, 1971 (No. 3 of 1971);

NOW, I, GEORGE COLLEY, Minister for Energy, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the Fuels (Control of Supplies) Act, 1971 , the Economic Planning and Development (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 8 of 1980 ) and the Energy (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 9 of 1980 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Petroleum Oils (Maintenance and Provision of Supplies) Order, 1980.

2. Supplies of petroleum oils shall be maintained and provided in such manner, to such extent and for such purposes as is or are expedient having regard to the exigencies of the common good.

3. The Minister may grant such authorisations or licences, and give such directions, as appear to the Minister to be necessary or expedient for giving full effect to Article 2 of this Order.
