FLUORIDATION OF WATER SUPPLIES (CORK) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1979.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 2 and 4 of the Health (Fluoridation of Water Supplies) Act, 1960 (No. 46 of 1960), and having complied with subsection (4) of section 2 of that Act and having consulted with the Minister for the Environment hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Cork) (Amendment) Regulations, 1979.

2. The Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Cork) Regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 130 of 1965 ) are hereby amended as follows:—

( a ) by the addition to Article 4 of the following sub-article:—

"(9) The Council of the Urban District of Mallow shall, as agents for the Authority, perform the following acts in relation to the fluoridation of water in the public water supply referred to in paragraph 24 of the First Schedule to these Regulations:—

( a ) the provision, installation and maintenance of equipment for fluoridation,

( b ) the making of arrangements for the addition of fluorine to the water, and

( c ) the testing of the fluorine content of the water to which fluorine has been added."

( b ) by the addition to the First Schedule of the following paragraph:—

"24. The Mallow piped water supply."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations add the Mallow Water Supply to the list of public piped water supplies required by the regulations of 1965 to be fluoridated.
