COURTS (SUPPLEMENTAL PROVISIONS) ACT, 1961 (SECTION 46) ORDER, 1978.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 46 (9) of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (No. 39 of 1961) (inserted by section 1 of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1968 (No. 21 of 1968)), as amended by section 11 of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial, Parliamentary and Judicial Offices (Amendment) Act, 1977 (No. 29 of 1977), hereby make the following order:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (Section 46) Order, 1978.

2. In this Order "the Agreement" means the Employer-Trade Union National Agreement, 1978, of the Employer-Labour Conference ratified on the 23rd day of March, 1978.

3. The sums payable by way of remuneration to the several judges of the Supreme Court, the High Court and the Circuit Court and the several justices of the District Court shall be and be deemed to have been increased—

( a ) with effect from the 1st day of March, 1978, by an amount calculated in accordance with Clause 3 (c) of the Agreement,

and

( b ) with effect from the 1st day of March, 1979, by an amount calculated in accordance with Clause 3 (d) of the Agreement.

This order gives to the members of the judiciary the increases due under the Employer-Labour National Agreement, 1978.
