SOCIAL WELFARE (DEATH GRANT) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1978.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and section 28B of the said Act (inserted therein by section 10 of the Social Welfare Act, 1970 (No. 12 of 1970)), hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Death Grant) (Amendment) Regulations, 1978.

(2) In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Social Welfare (Death Grant) Regulations, 1971 ( S.I. No. 98 of 1971 ).

(3) These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Death Grant) Regulations 1971 and 1972 may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Death Grant) Regulations, 1971 to 1978.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 3rd day of April, 1978.

3. The following Schedule shall be substituted for the Schedule to the Principal Regulations.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Consequent on the increase in the maximum rates of death grant effected by the Social Welfare Act, 1978 these Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Death Grant) (Amendment) Regulations, 1972 to enable increased reduced rates of death grant to be paid where the contribution conditions are only partially satisfied.
