RESTRICTION OF IMPORTS (FOOTWEAR FROM CZECHOSLOVAKIA AND TAIWAN) ORDER, 1976.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 of the Restriction of Imports Act, 1962 (No. 20 of 1962), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Restriction of Imports (Footwear from Czechoslovakia and Taiwan) Order, 1976, and shall come into operation on the 16th day of November, 1976.

2. (1) A reference in this Order to a tariff heading number shall be taken to be a reference to that tariff heading number in the Imposition of Duties (No. 200) (Customs and Excise Duties and Form of Tariff) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 220 of 1972 ).

(2) The particulars stated in column (2) of the Schedule to this Order are inserted solely to facilitate identification of the goods referred to at the tariff heading number mentioned in column (1) of that Schedule opposite the insertion in column (2) and, accordingly, nothing contained in column (2) shall affect the construction or limit or control the operation of any provision of this Order (including the mention of the tariff heading number in column (1)).

3. (1) The importation is hereby prohibited, save under and in accordance with a licence issued by the Minister for Industry and Commerce, of the goods specified at a tariff heading number mentioned in column (1) of Part 1 of the Schedule to this Order and manufactured or produced in or consigned from Czechoslovakia.

(2) The importation is hereby prohibited, save under and in accordance with a licence issued by the Minister for Industry and Commerce, of the goods specified at a tariff heading number mentioned in column (1) of Part II of the Schedule to this Order and manufactured or produced in or consigned from Taiwan.
