DISABLED PERSONS (MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1976.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) and by sections 69 and 72 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970), hereby makes the following Regulations—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1976.

2. Article 4 of the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) Regulations 1973 ( S.I. No. 160 of 1973 ) is hereby amended by the substitution for sub-article (4) (as substituted by article 3 of the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1976 ( S.I. No. 67 of 1976 )) of the following sub-article:—

"(4) A maintenance allowance payable in accordance with this article shall with effect from the 1st October 1976 be at a rate not exceeding £10.35 per week."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these Regulations is to increase, as from the 1st October, 1976, the maximum weekly rate of maintenance allowance payable under Section 69 of the Health Act, 1970 , to ten pounds and thirty five pence.
