EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (RADIO INTERFERENCE FROM TRACTOR IGNITION SYSTEMS) REGULATIONS, 1976.

I, CONOR CRUISE O'BRIEN, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive No. 75/322/EEC of 20th May, 1975,¹ hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Radio Interference from Tractor Ignition Systems) Regulations, 1976.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 20th day of November, 1976.

3. The Wireless Telegraphy (Control of Interference from Ignition Apparatus) Regulations, 1963 ( S.I. No. 223 of 1963 ), shall not apply in relation to an agricultural or forestry tractor (within the meaning of Council Directive No. 75/322/EEC of 20th May, 1975) that complies with the requirements of that Directive.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations exempt vehicles which comply with the provisions of the EEC Council Directive (75/322 EEC of 20th May, 1975) from the requirements of the Wireless Telegraphy (Control of Interference from Ignition Apparatus) Regulations, 1963.
