PIGS AND BACON ACT, 1935 (PART II) (No. 5) REGULATIONS, 1976.

I, MARK CLINTON, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 8 and 28 (1) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935) (as amended by Provisions) Act, 1954 (No. 33 of 1954)) and the Agriculture (Altera-section 6 (a) of the Agricultural Produce (Meat) (Miscellaneous tion of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1965 ), hereby make the following regulations, with respect to which pursuant to section 6 (b) of the said Agricultural Produce (Meat) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1954 , a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 5) Regulations, 1976.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 17th day of May, 1976.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

4. For the purposes of section 28 (1) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), the prescribed sum shall be 12 new pence.

5. The Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 4) Regulations, 1973 ( S.I. No. 217 of 1973 ), are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations increase as from 17th May, 1976 the fees payable by bacon curers for veterinary examination of pigs in accordance with the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 .
