ROAD TRANSPORT (INTERNATIONAL CARRIAGE OF GOODS BY ROAD) ORDER, 1976.

I, PETER BARRY, T.D., Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 8 (2) of the Road Transport Act, 1971 (No. 8 of 1971), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Transport (International Carriage of Goods by Road) Order, 1976.

2. A permit granted by the Minister for Transport and Power and issued by the Secrétariat d'Etat aux Transports of the French Republic (or by any authority to whom that function may be entrusted) under Article 6 (3) (b) of the agreement made on the 20th day of January, 1976, between the Government and the Government of the French Republic and relating to the international carriage of goods by road, shall be deemed to be a restricted road freight licence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Instrument is to declare that permits granted to French authorised carriers by the Minister for Transport and Power and issued by the competent authority in France under the Ireland/ France Road Transport Agreement dated 20th January, 1976 shall be deemed to be restricted road freight licences.
