MAXIMUM PRICES (CIGARETTES) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1975.

The Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 22A and 22C (inserted by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1965 (No. 23 of 1965)) of the Prices Act, 1958 (No. 4 of 1958), as amended by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1972 (No. 20 of 1972), and the Prices Stabilisation Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 96 of 1973 ), hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Maximum Prices (Cigarettes) (No. 2) Order, 1975.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 10th day of July, 1975.

3. The maximum prices at which cigarettes of a brand mentioned in column (2) of the Schedule to this Order at a reference number may be sold is hereby fixed at the prices mentioned in column (3) of that Schedule at that reference number.

4. Cigarettes of any brand mentioned in the Schedule to this Order shall not be sold otherwise than in packets of ten or multiples of ten.

5. The Maximum Prices (Cigarettes) Order, 1975 ( S.I. No. 12 of 1975 ), is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the maximum prices at which the brands of cigarettes set out in the Schedule to the Order, may be sold by retail. It also prohibits the sale of cigarettes otherwise than in packets of ten or multiples of ten.
