AGRICULTURAL WORKERS (HOLIDAYS) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1975 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1975.

I, MARK CLINTON, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 (3) of the Agricultural Workers (Holidays) (Amendment) Act, 1975 (No. 7 of 1975), hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Workers (Holidays) (Amendment) Act, 1975 (Commencement) Order, 1975.

2. The 1st day of June, 1975, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Agricultural Workers (Holidays) (Amendment) Act, 1975 (No. 7 of 1975), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to bring into operation on 1st June, 1975, the provisions of the Act, which gives agricultural workers statutory entitlement to three weeks holidays with pay per annum where they are employed for eleven or fewer months. The Act also gives agricultural workers an additional public holiday on 1st January each year.
