PETROLEUM OILS (MAINTENANCE AND PROVISION OF SUPPLIES) ORDER, 1975.

WHEREAS there is for the time being in force an order (entitled the Petroleum Oils (Control of Supply and Distribution) Order, 1975) under section 2 of the Fuels (Control of Supplies) Act, 1971 (No. 3 of 1971);

NOW I, Peter Barry, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the said Fuels (Control of Supplies) Act, 1971 (No. 3 of 1971), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Petroleum Oils (Maintenance and Provision of Supplies) Order, 1975.

2. In this Order "oil distributors" means persons who carry on the business of distributing petroleum oils or of selling, by wholesale or retail, petroleum oils.

3. Supplies of petroleum oil for the Defence Forces and the Garda Síochána shall be maintained and provided by oil distributors to such extent as is necessary to enable the Defence Forces and the Garda Síochána to perform their functions and carry out their duties efficiently and adequately.

4. The Minister may grant such authorisations and licences, and give such directions, as appear to the Minister to be necessary or expedient for giving full effect to Article 3 of this Order.
