ROAD TRAFFIC (PUBLIC SERVICE VEHICLES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1975.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 82 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1975.

(2) These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations, 1963 to 1974 shall be construed together and may be cited as the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations, 1963 to 1975.

(3) In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations, 1963 ( S.I. No. 191 of 1963 ).

2. There shall be substituted for article 9 of the Principal Regulations the following article:—

"A statement of the maximum fares for licensed public hire vehicles in a taximeter area shall be made available for purchase by the Dublin Corporation for the Dublin taximeter area and by the Cork Corporation for the Cork taximeter area".

3. Article 10 of the Principal Regulations is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these Regulations is that—

( a ) the fixing of maximum fares for licensed public hire vehicles in the Dublin and Cork taximeter areas, and

( b ) the issuing of a certificate that on a specified day a specified fare was the maximum fare fixed for such vehicles; is no longer the responsibility of Dublin Corporation or Cork Corporation respectfully.
