SOCIAL WELFARE (DISABILITY AND UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1974.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 28 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Disability and Unemployment Benefit) (No. 2) Regulations, 1974.

(2) These Regulations shall be included in the collective citation of the Social Welfare (Disability and Unemployment Benefit) Regulations, 1953 to 1974.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 July, 1974.

3. The following Schedule shall be substituted for the First Schedule to the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 ( S.I. No. 7 of 1953 ) as amended by Article 3 of the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations, 1973 ( S.I. No. 183 of 1973 ) :—

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Consequent on the increase in the maximum rates of disability and unemployment benefit effected by the Social Welfare (No. 2) Act, 1974 , these Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 ( S.I. No. 7 of 1953 ) for the purpose of increasing the reduced rates of benefit payable where the contribution condition in respect of the governing contribution year is only partially satisfied.
