REDUNDANCY PAYMENTS (LIMERICK PORT DOCKERS) REGULATIONS, 1974.

I, MICHAEL O'LEARY, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 35 of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 (No. 21 of 1967), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Redundancy Payments (Limerick Port Dockers) Regulations, 1974.

2. For the purposes of the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 1973, Limerick Cargo Handling Limited shall be treated as the employer of all dockers in Limerick port who, while so working, are employed by an employer who is mentioned in the Schedule of these Regulations.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these regulations is to provide that for the purpose of calculating redundancy payments entitlements of workers disemployed under a scheme of rationalisation of dockers employed in Limerick port, their periods of service with firms mentioned in the Schedule to these regulations can be aggregated.
