MARRIAGES ACT, 1972 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1973.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 19 of the Marriages Act, 1972 (No. 30 of 1972) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Marriages Act, 1972 (Commencement) Order, 1973.

2. In this Order "the Act" means the Marriages Act, 1972 .

3. Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 19 of the Act shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1973.

4. Sections 10, 13, 14 and 15 of the Act shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1973.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into operation specified sections of the Marriages Act, 1972 with effect from 1st February, 1973 and 1st April, 1973.
