EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (TEXTILES) REGULATIONS 1972.

I, PATRICK J. LALOR, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by
Section 3
of the
European Communities Act, 1972
(No. 27 of 1972), hereby make the following regulations:
1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Textiles) Regulations, 1972.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1973.
2. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 51) (Miscellaneous Textiles) Order, 1964 (
S.I. No. 297 of 1964
), is hereby amended by—
|

(a) the substitution for paragraph 3 (b) of the following:
|
| |
"(b) A reference in this Order to a tariff heading number or a tariff code number shall be construed as a reference to a tariff heading number or a tariff code number, as the case may be, in the Schedule to the Imposition of Duties (No. 200) (Customs and Excise Duties and Form of Tariff) Order, 1972 (

).",

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Common Customs Tariff and also the Nimexe system of classification of Tariff code numbers, are substituted for existing Tariff heading numbers in the Schedules to the above Orders. Also, Taiwan (Formosa) is substituted in the Schedules to the above Orders, for China (Nationalist).
