CONTROL OF EXPORTS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1972.

I PATRICK J. LALOR, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 2 of the Control of Exports (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1956 (No. 1 of 1956), which Act is continued in force by the Control of Exports (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1956 (Continuance) Act, 1971 (No. 5 of 1971), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Exports (Amendment) Order, 1972.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1973.

3. The Control of Exports Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 38 of 1972 ), is hereby amended by the substitution of the following for Part 1 of the Schedule:—

PART I

Aluminium waste and scrap.

Articles manufactured for use as fertilisers of the soil.

Copper waste and scrap and alloys thereof.

Ash and residues of copper and alloys thereof.

Waste and scrap metal of iron and steel.

Fabricated steel sections whether assembled or unassembled.

Railway rails and accessories.

Railway rolling stock (including locomotives) and parts thereof.

Lead and manufactures thereof, lead alloys and manufactures thereof, lead waste and scrap, lead bearing scrap, lead dross, lead residues and lead ashes.

Zinc waste and scrap, zinc-base alloy scrap and zinc ashes.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to enable the Minister for Industry and Commerce to control, for supply or other reasons, and to harmonise Irish law with that of the European Communities, the export of the commodities indicated in the Order. Under the terms of the Control of Exports (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1956 , this Order will cease to have effect two months after it comes into operation.
