HIGHER EDUCATION AUTHORITY ACT, 1971 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1972.

I, PÁDRAIG FAULKNER, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 21 (2) of the Higher Education Authority Act, 1971 (No. 22 of 1971), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Higher Education Authority Act, 1971 (Commencement) Order, 1972.

2. The fifteenth day of May, 1972, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Higher Education Authority Act, 1971 (No. 22 of 1971), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the coming into operation on 15 May, 1972, of a body known as An tÚdarás Um Ard-Oideachas in accordance with section 21 (2) of the Higher Education Authority Act, 1971 (No. 22 of 1971).
