S.I. No. 67/1972 - Garda Síochána (Ranks) Order, 1972.

The Government, in exercise of the power conferred on them by section 1 of the Garda Síochána Act, 1972 (No. 2 of 1972), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána (Ranks) Order, 1972.

2. It is hereby determined that the Garda Síochána shall be divided into the ranks specified in column (1) of the Schedule to this Order and that each rank shall consist of not more than the number of members of the Garda Síochána specified in column (2) of the said Schedule opposite the mention of the rank in the said column (1).
